Plinko XY Review
Verdict
BGaming released Plinko XY in 2022 as a second-generation plinko that adds horizontal as well as vertical control -- the "XY" is literal. You choose where to drop the ball on the X axis, not just how the board is configured. This gives the game a more active feel than the passive plinko variants where you just watch a ball fall. The math is 97% RTP, which is the plinko genre standard. Max win of 1,000x your stake is modest -- a $1 bet can pay $1,000. If the extra layer of placement interaction makes plinko more engaging for you, XY earns its distinction. If you are purely optimizing RTP, the Hacksaw plinko at 98% beats it.
The Math
BGaming certifies Plinko XY at 97% RTP. House edge is 3%. Max win is 1,000x stake, capped. The game is provably fair with a seed-based hash system that you can audit post-round. Board configuration affects the distribution of outcomes but does not change the underlying RTP -- the expected value is the same regardless of which row count or risk level you select. Higher risk settings concentrate payouts at the extremes, producing either very high or very low multipliers; lower risk narrows the distribution toward the center.
How It Plays
Plinko XY presents a triangular peg board in the center of the screen. You set the number of rows (8 to 16), the risk level (low/medium/high), and then drag the release point horizontally to any column at the top of the board. The ball physically rolls down the pegs using realistic physics simulation and lands in one of the buckets at the bottom, each labelled with a multiplier. The XY release mechanic means you can target higher or lower multiplier buckets intentionally, though the physics and peg distribution ensure results are still random -- you are not aiming precisely, you are shifting probabilities slightly. Round history runs along the bottom. Auto-bet mode lets you set bet size and number of rounds to run hands-free.
Where to Play It
Plinko XY is available at Stake, Shuffle, Roobet, Rainbet, Razed, Duel, Gamdom, 1xBet, Melbet, and Megapari. BGaming has strong cross-platform distribution, so the Tier 1 rooms carry it alongside the Tier 2 books.
